Accounting intern

It is the responsibility of an Accounting Intern to assist the accounting team. It is imperative that the Accounting Intern become familiar with all of Executive Construction’s Policies and Procedures and embrace Executive Construction’s core values. The position will be in our Hillside office. During the internship, the Accounting Intern will assist with the responsibilities referenced below.

REPORTS TO

The Accounting Intern reports directly to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts payable coding and entry, facilitate weekly subcontractor payouts
  • Assist with monthly project billings to Owners
  • Collect and review waivers for compliance and follow-up with trade contractors as appropriate
  • Assist with monthly / quarterly reporting and reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Work-in-progress analysis of active projects
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for various corporate accounts
  • Other special projects as assigned by the Controller or Accounting Manager

TECHNOLOGY

  • Become proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Viewpoint

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be actively enrolled with a declared major in accounting or finance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Organized and detail oriented; capability to multi-task
  • High level of integrity and must be trustworthy; will deal with sensitive data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 24-40 hours per week
